市販の商品ではなかなか見ることのない麻生地に、
長野県と群馬県の県境に雄大な姿をみせる浅間山。麓でとれた、かつて浅間山から吹き出し、冷え固まった真っ黒い溶岩を細かく砕き、染料にしたもので一枚一枚染めています。浅間山の染色はグレー色ですが、そこに墨を少し加えて濃淡をつけています。
生地もめずらしいうえ、溶岩で染めたストールは、無造作に巻くだけで素敵な雰囲気を醸し出してくれるから不思議。

【お手入れ方法】
他のものとは別にして(単独で)、ご自宅で手洗い水洗いでお洗濯できます。洗剤は、汚れた箇所に少量中性洗剤をご使用ください。
紫外線による褪色はしませんが、お洗濯で少しずつ色落ちしていきます。
風通しの良いところに干したあとは、適温でアイロンがけできます。アイロンなしのそのままの風合いでお楽しみいただくのもお勧めです。

This lightweight, breathable open-weave hemp stole is easy to drape and comfortable to wear. The term ami-asa (open-weave linen) refers to its loosely woven structure, created with thick linen threads and wide spacing, allowing excellent airflow.

Even in hot summer weather, it is a practical companion for sun protection and for staying comfortable in air-conditioned spaces.

The hemp fabric itself is uncommon, and each piece is hand-dyed using finely crushed black lava collected from the foothills of Mount Asama, which rises majestically along the border of Nagano and Gunma Prefectures. Although Asama lava dye naturally produces gray tones, a small amount of sumi is added to create subtle depth and gradation.

The combination of this rare fabric and lava dyeing gives the stole a distinctive presence—simply draping it casually creates a beautifully atmospheric look.

“Stole Embracing the Earth” carries the Earth’s energy as it is. Wearing it directly is believed to offer a sense of grounding and energetic renewal.

On a personal note, I carry several of these stoles with me. In digitally saturated cities or crowded places, I wear one as a form of protection. When staying in hotels, I place it over the sheets or wrap it around my pillow. It has become an indispensable part of my daily life.

Care Instructions
Wash separately by hand in water only.
Use a small amount of mild detergent on stained areas if needed.
The color will not fade due to sunlight, but gradual color release may occur with washing.
Hang to dry in a well-ventilated area.
Iron at an appropriate temperature if desired, or enjoy the natural texture without ironing.
